All is quiet in WA state right now. After a very eventful first half of the year with the DOH, Department of Health, there is currently no legal activity or issues being addressed. With that said, the Dirk Yow court case is still being presented to the WA State Supreme Court of Appeals for a hearing to separate out Dirk's practice of Colon Hydrotherapy from "The" practice of Colon Hydrotherapy. This is a key focal point for the industry and we support the separation. The DOH has drafted a bill that has been modified and signed off on by the WANP (Washington Association for Naturopathic Physicians) that we had attempted to pass through the legislature last session to support Colon Hydrotherapists to work in association with NDs. This would ensure greater safety, professionalism and care for the public at large while ensuring the future of Colon Hydrotherapy in WA state. With that said, it did not pass into law. In order to pass it into law for the upcoming session in only a few months, we will need financial support from everyone in the industry and people that receive colonics. Please donate now, become a member and support the effort. Without the money it is highly unlikely that this bill will make it to law. |
